The stars aligned when the Yard Dogs Road Show rolled in to town. I had no idea what to expect that night, but I knew I had the resources to cover it. I was familiar with the venue – Club Vegas (now closed). They had a new dynamic lighting rig and expansive sound board. I also had a secret weapon – access to half a dozen surveillance cameras, with a feed I could tap into, letting me create experimental interludes in between songs.
I had a solid crew – my brother on camera, my friend Dan Harrelson on lights, and the in-house audio engineers helping us to get the best mix on tape.
I can’t do justice to the legendary history of the Yard Dogs, and the story of Eddy Joe Cotton. So, I’ll let them tell it on their own sites. Check it out.

This recording is also noteworthy because it showcases the unique belly dancing techniques of Zoe Jakes, in her early career. She would later form the band Beats Antique with David Satori, and achieve international fame.
